Millennials Love the Acura ILX
Millennials, or those between the ages of 18 and 35, are a special group of people that have a different approach to life than those before them. One of the biggest defining factors for this group is that they want to experience all that life has to offer within price ranges they can afford. A great example of millennials finding this balance is clear through their favoring of the Acura ILX over many other competing luxury sports sedans.
Why the ILX?
There are a few important components that factor into why millennials prefer the ILX to other vehicles in the same segment. The main reason why there is such an allure to the ILX is because it allows them to be able to have the experience of owning a luxury car without having to pay luxury car prices. After the ILX went through an overhaul with the 2016 model to add upgraded features and tweaks to the powertrains, technology, luxury feel, and safety features, the vehicle saw even more interest than in previous years. Acura reports having seen large increases in sales particularly by those between the ages of 18 and 35. In fact, the 2016 Quarter One reports show that the 2016 model of the ILX are up 40 percent and this isn’t likely to change anytime soon considering the starting price for the ILX is still a mere $27,900 even with all of the much needed upgrades.
This isn’t a new development either, the Acura ILX has been capturing this audience since 2010 by constantly securing its position an affordable sports sedan. Even popular vehicle reviewing websites have noticed this trend and have awarded the vehicle with various accolades. Kelley Blue Book named the Acura as the luxury brand*, with such great features and accolades at such an affordable price, it’s easy to see why this vehicle continues to impress and sell itself to millennials.
